The rotation may be in a bit of a shambles right now but the core of the bullpen still looks solid.

On a day when J.A. Happ was all over the place, the likes of Sergio Santos, Brett Cecil, Aaron Loup and Steve Delabar were solid.

Coupled with closer Casey Janssen, who will make his spring debut on Friday in a game against Tampa Bay, they are manager John Gibbons big five that are called on to shut the door in the final innings of a game.

In the game, Santos came into the game in relief of Happ with two on and two out and held the inning scoreless by getting a ground ball out. The next inning he allowed a two-out solo home run, the first run he has allowed this spring.

Cecil didn’t allow a hit or run in 1.1 innings while Delabar also tossed a scoreless inning. Neither Delabar or Cecil has allowed a run this spring.
