Columbus Blue Jackets assistant coach Keith Acton is set to become an associate coach with the Edmonton Oilers, according to a team release Friday.

Acton joins newly-appointed head coach Dallas Eakins as fresh faces behind the Oilers bench for the 2013-14 season.

"We appreciate Keith's contributions to our hockey club during his time with the Blue Jackets. This is a great opportunity for him and we wish him the best," said Blue Jackets' general manager Jarmo Kekalainen.

Before joining the Blue Jackets for the 2012-13 season, he had served as an assistant coach with the Toronto Maple Leafs, he has also served an assistant coach with the New York Rangers and the Philadelphia Flyers.
