"The Cubs placed reliever Kerry Wood on the 15-day disabled list Monday with a blister on his right index finger.

It is the 15th career trip to the disabled list for Wood, who missed three weeks with the same injury in 2008.

Wood had tried to pitch through it, but said Sunday it was not something that would heal in a few days."
