Blake Griffin discovers that All-Star break can be quite exhausting

"Captain Planet.

That's what the Jazz players call Blake Griffin, according to someone considered all-world himself, point guard Deron Williams.

On Sunday, after a jam-packed All-Star weekend schedule of events and, well, jams, Captain Planet was spinning much slower.

"The last time I was this tired?" Griffin said. "Man, it's a good question. I have no idea. Probably training camp … I can barely move right now. I'm pretty tired. But it was great getting that win."

Griffin played 14-plus minutes in the All-Star game, finishing with eight points, five rebounds and five assists. He also had an assist from the Staples Center fans who chanted, "We want Blake!" This was at the start of the fourth quarter, and West Coach Gregg Popovich complied.

"It was cool, really cool," Griffin said. "Actually to get recognition from the fans like that. And I thought they [his teammates] were all looking at me like, 'Why aren't you going to go in?' I didn't know that was the protocol; you get up immediately."

Griffin was joking. He also said he and Kevin Love teased Kobe Bryant about grabbing all of their rebounds, saying, "That's supposed to be us getting 14 rebounds or whatever it is.""
