Birmingham have opened contract talks with Che Adams after rejecting a £5million bid for the attacker from Fulham.

The Cottagers have identified the 21-year-old as key summer target but have seen their offer rebuffed by their Championship rivals.

Birmingham manager Harry Redknapp is keen to keep Adams, who scored seven goals in 40 league appearances last season, and wants the youngster to sign a new deal.

Meanwhile, Fulham forward Sone Aluko is a target for Reading.
Aluko, who joined on a free transfer from Hull City, made an immediate impact at Craven Cottage last season.

The 28-year-old scored nine goals as the west London club reached the play-off semi finals, where they were beaten by the Royals.
