"For the first time in a dozen years, the Buffalo Bills have locked up a quarterback to a contract extension.
The Bills and Ryan Fitzpatrick reached agreement on a new deal today, a source close to the talks told The News.
The move gives the Bills security at a position in which they have had very little the past decade. The last Bills starting QB to get an extension was Doug Flutie, who got an extra two years added onto his contract in 1999.
The deal is for six years and a total of $59 million, with $24 million guaranteed, according to ESPN."
