Coach Bill O'Brien made it clear Wednesday about how he wants quarterback Tom Savage to play Sunday when the Texans visit the Los Angeles Rams.

"Play loose, play free (and) let it rip," O'Brien said. "Have some fun. Don't worry about anything other than making the right reads."

After his poor performance in Sunday's 20-14 loss to Indianapolis except for the last two possessions when the Texans scored a touchdown and failed on four plays from the Colts' 7 in the last 18 seconds, Savage was hard on himself. He took the blame for the defeat.

"I think these guys need to stop worrying about being hard on themselves," O'Brien said. "Just let it rip. That's how I think they need to play."

Savage said Wednesday he's confident he'll play better against the Rams.
