"Former Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Bill Cowher said on Sunday he has not been contacted by the Miami Dolphins or any other team about a coaching position and plans to return to CBS next season.

Cowher was asked about rumors and speculation he had been contacted for head coaching jobs. The Dolphins were specifically mentioned in Jim Brown's question, and Cowher denied talking directly or indirectly with any NFL team.

"I have not been contacted directly or indirectly by any football team, or any organization. It's all speculation and it's unfortunate because it effects the lives of many people who are in the profession," said Cowher, who was sitting next to Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino when he made his statement."
