Big chance slips through Williams' fingers

"One catch might have changed the outcome of Sunday's game.

When Caleb Hanie fired a pass to Roy Williams on first-and-10 from the Chiefs' 13 late in the fourth quarter, it appeared the Bears were on the verge of tying the game. Instead, the ball tipped off Williams' fingers. It was deflected and intercepted in the end zone by Chiefs safety Jon McGraw.

Williams explained the mishap.

"When I came around the linebacker, I didn't see the ball until late,'' Williams said. "I just tried to put my hands up. There was no way I could knock it down or anything else. A had a linebacker right in my face. When I came around him, all I saw was a big brown thing coming in front of me. I just tried to stop it.''

Hanie refused to point fingers."
