Besiktas have confirmed they are in talks with Fulham to sign winger Kerim Frei before the close of the Turkish transfer window.

Frei is highly rated by Cottagers boss Martin Jol but the 19-year-old is keen to raise his profile as he looks to cement his place in the Turkey national team.

And amid weeks of speculation over his future Besiktas have now confirmed they are closing in on a deal to land Frei before the close of their window on Friday.

‘We are in the process of trying to sign Kerim Frei from Fulham’ president Fikret Orman announced.

‘If Fulham accept our terms the deal will be done quickly.

‘We have been in contact with him for a long time.’

Besiktas are believed to be offering around £2million for Frei who joined Fulham from Swiss side Grasshoppers in 2011.
