Berrian vows to work, even in reduced role

"Bernard Berrian voiced frustration over his reduced playing time and uncertain role before the Vikings played the New York Jets. The veteran wide receiver saw his role change even more significantly in the 29-20 loss Monday night.

With the addition of Randy Moss, Berrian got extremely limited snaps and was not even targeted for one pass by Brett Favre. Berrian reiterated Wednesday that he's frustrated with the situation.

"Yeah, but I can't let frustration get the best of me," he said. "I'm just trying to focus on other things."

The Vikings signed Berrian to a six-year, $42 million contract that calls for $16 million in guarantees before the 2008 season. He led the NFL in average yards per catch at 20.1 yards that season. But two separate hamstring injuries hampered his 2009 season, and he has only five catches for 38 yards in four games this season.

"Just keep working," he said. "That's all I can do. Can't get down on anything. Just keep working and trying to improve myself.""
