"Vikings receiver Bernard Berrian said quarterback Brett Favre legitimizes the team's offense.
Berrian discussed Favre in an interview on Fox Sports Radio, with the transcription courtesy of the Web site Sports Radio Interviews.
"Yeah, it's a legitimate threat; he can get the ball down the field," Berrian told Fox Sports Radio. "Our other quarterbacks are capable of doing that, too. It's just the respect factor that you get with Brett I think is the biggest thing. Now, they're really looking at us as a legitimate offense as opposed to an illegitimate threat."
Berrian, who has been sidelined with a hamstring injury, said Favre's arm strength is evident.
"The arm strength is there, so I don't think there's anything wrong with the arm as of now," he said. "He's throwing the ball deep and very far down the field. He's hummed it, I heard he hummed it today, about 40 yards down the field today.
"So the arm strength is definitely there. Obviously he knows the offense, so everything is set."
Dungy visit: Tony Dungy, the former Gophers quarterback who also was a Vikings defensive coordinator, will return to the Twin Cities today to visit with both teams.
Dungy, who led the Indianapolis Colts to a Super Bowl and retired after last season, will visit with the Gophers football team and may also visit TCF Bank Stadium, which he helped rally support for. Then Dungy will visit with the Vikings before their exhibition home opener against the Kansas City Chiefs at the Metrodome.
Soon, Dungy will begin his new duties as an analyst for NBC's Sunday night NFL studio show.
"I'm pretty excited," Dungy said. "
