Cardinals first baseman Lance Berkman is questionable for Wednesday's series finale against the Cincinnati Reds after suffering a pulled left calf muscle while negotiating a sixth-inning triple during the team's 3-1 Tuesday night win over the Cincinnati Reds.

Berkman, already playing despite discomfort on his right middle finger, left the game for pinch runner Rafael Furcal after singling in the eighth inning. Within a tight game he sounded doubtful about his ability to score from first base on a double or move to third base on a single.

Berkman called the leg "tender" to walk on. He admitted he initially felt discomfort as he ran from second to third base during his triple. Cold conditions at Great American Ball Park didn't help Berkman keep the muscle loose.
