"The Bengals have granted permission for the Dolphins to talk to Kevin Coyle about their defensive coordinator opening with the interview slated to take place this week in Miami.

Coyle has been the Bengals secondary coach since 2001, and is the leading in-house candidate to replace Mike Zimmer if Zimmer would leave for a head coaching job. Zimmer interviewed with the Dolphins and Buccaneers and has received interest from the Colts. There still remains a slight possibility that Zimmer could get a second interview with Tampa Bay, whose coaching search has gone on for more than three weeks.

Zimmer arrived here on Monday with the rest of the Bengals staff and watched both practices on Tuesday."
