"Likely lottery pick Ed Davis is quite familiar with one of the Pistons.
David, a sophomore power forward from North Carolina, is the son of former NBA forward Terry Davis, who starred at Virginia Union in the mid- to late-1980s.
And as Pistons fans know, Virginia Union is the program that produced Ben Wallace, who has won the NBA's defensive player of the year award four times as a Piston.
Davis talked openly about his relationship with Wallace at the predraft combine in Chicago last week.
"He's like family," Davis said. "We work out all summer. He's always been like an uncle to me."
