"Ben Wallace knows he and his Pistons teammates could've had it worse.
Instead of more than a year's worth of speculation about the team's pending sale, the Pistons could've dealt with another color-scheme change for their uniforms.
"Burgundy and teal," muttered Wallace, shaking his head about previous looks. "Those were some terrible colors, man. They should never go back to those."
Red, white and Pistons blue to the core, Wallace, a 10-year veteran of the organization, probably won't have to worry about any more sweeping cosmetic alterations.
And in terms of the future owner, Wallace claims he'll keep an open mind and reach out to the buyer once the deal is done.
"It's hard for us as players to get involved," he said. "Once the deal is done, that's when you start to have a relationship with him."Closure could be coming soon.
The Detroit News reported last week that Tom Gores, a billionaire financier with Michigan ties, has a 30-day window to purchase the team from owner Karen Davidson.
Wallace met Gores briefly this month when the Pistons played the Lakers in Los Angeles. He didn't get the impression Gores will bring glitz and glamour to the team if he buys it."
