"Detroit Piston Ben Wallace received a sentence of one year probation, about $2,700 fines and 30 hours of community service for his drunken driving incident in which he also was in illegal possession of a handgun.

Wallace, 37, of Bloomfield Township appeared in court Tuesday for sentencing before Oakland Circuit Judge Shalina Kumar. He had faced up to 93 days on the misdemeanor drunken driving offense and up to five years in prison for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit

Wallace was pulled over at 2:35 a.m. Sept. 24 on Telegraph Road and Long Lake Road by Bloomfield Township police after his 2007 Cadillac Escalade was spotted driving erratically on the road by an officer."
