"One thing about new Lions punter Ben Graham — he's not going to be overwhelmed by the size of the stage. The 38-year-old Australian has played in the biggest sporting event on two continents.
He punted for the Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII and was the captain of the Geelong Football Club that played in the Australian Rules Football League's Grand Final in 1995.
"The comparison is that they are both sports' pinnacle games and the biggest games in their respective countries," Graham said. "But if you put them side by side, the Super Bowl is 10 times bigger, 10 times the spectacle, 10 times the money. But I am proud to be the first Australian to play in the Super Bowl."
Graham was a star in the AFL for 14 years and has had a seven-year NFL career with the Jets and Cardinals. He was actually the Lions' first choice to fill in for injured starter Ryan Donahue (quad), but was stuck in Melbourne last week."
