"Ben Gordon's motto is "I've been scoring since 1983," meaning since he stepped out of the womb.
However, he can't score if he doesn't get the ball or quality opportunities. The Pistons' leading scorer (17.0 ppg) takes 11.3 shots per game, behind Rodney Stuckey (13.4), Tayshaun Prince (12.6) and Charlie Villanueva (11.5).
In the last two games he's taken 13 shots, including seven Tuesday against Portland, when his team only scored 78. He only took three shots in the second half, when a close game turned into a rout.
"I don't know (what the problem is)," said Gordon, laughing after a shootaround Friday at UCLA. "Our offense hasn't been running as fluidly as it should have."
Gordon shoots 54 percent, a pretty good number considering he's a jump-shooter. Only the Spurs' Richard Jefferson averages more points (18.6) on fewer shots (10.7)."
