"Ben Gordon says the Pistons must show better effort, and they should take to heart the comments made by Lakers coach Phil Jackson.

Jackson questioned the Pistons' effort after his team's 103-90 victory Wednesday.

Gordon agreed.

"Yeah, man," he said. "When you get beat that much and you get down by that kind of deficit, it seemed like they got anything they wanted. And they were able to move the ball around the perimeter with ease.

"It might have been because of a lack of effort. It is an accurate statement."

Gordon hopes the scrutiny serves as a wake-up call.

"I definitely think guys should look in the mirror and look at what Phil said," Gordon said. "He is a great coach. He is the winningest coach ever, so coming from him, it says a lot."
