"The Jazz's Raja Bell made one 3-point shot Monday night against Detroit.
Teammate Paul Millsap handed out exactly two assists.
But their timing was impeccable.
Bell buried the go-ahead 3-pointer off a pass from Millsap with 50.7 seconds left, helping Utah to a 102-97 victory over Detroit at EnergySolutions Arena.
The game was tied 95-95 when Millsap faked a jumper, drove toward the basket, drew the defense and kicked the ball back to Bell.
His 3-pointer gave the Jazz a 98-95 lead.
"I had an open shot," Millsap said. "But somebody jumped out on me and I tried to attack the basket.
"I drew a few people. They all collapsed in the lane and I saw Raja was wide open, so I threw it to him."
Bell, who missed his first two attempts of the game, didn't make any mistakes with his third 3-point shot.
"Paul just made a good pass," he said. "I was open. He made a strong move to the bucket and I saw my man slip down in there."
For Bell, it was just another day in his office.
"That's kind of what I do - hang out by the 3-point line," he said. "I'd missed a few early in the game but I had a feeling I was going to get another look at one.""
