"Erik Bedard picked up his first victory for the Red Sox Saturday, going six innings against the Rangers. But the lefthander also aggravated his injured left knee and will skip his next start.

"I'm not concerned. It's just sore. I just don't want to make it too bad for later in the season and the playoffs,'' Bedard said yesterday. "It's not bad. It hurts a little bit once in a while and a little more in the last start. I'll just take a start off.''"
