"Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley injured his left ankle for the third consecutive game on Tuesday against San Antonio and said afterward that it's time to give the ankle a rest.

"I've just got to give it a couple days," he said.

Beasley turned the ankle Friday against Portland, aggravated it Sunday in San Antonio and then came tumbling down again in the final four minutes of Tuesday's 107-96 loss when his foot encountered Tim Duncan's leg just after Beasley made a three-pointer.

This time was different.

"I really can't walk this time," he said after hobbling to the Target Center locker room.

Beasley played 27 minutes, but he made only three of 11 shots and scored seven points, after he scored two points in 12 minutes Sunday against the Spurs.

Before Tuesday's game, Beasley's ankle was encased in a wrap connected by a tube to a container that pumped ice water around the injured area for about 20 minutes before the game."
