Bears reach agreement with former All Pro wideout Roy Williams

"The Chicago Bears have gotten a wide receiver to add to the mix and it will be one hungry to prove he's still among the elite in the game.

The team has reached an agreement on a contract with Roy Williams, who was released by the Dallas Cowboys on Thusdsay, according to ESPN. The Tribune reported yesterday the Bears would be making an aggressive push to reunite Williams with his former offensive coordinator Mike Martz.

Not only is Williams back with Martz, who he had a 1,310-yard season playing for in Detroit in 2006, he's back together with wide receivers coach Darryl Drake, who coached him at the University of Texas. The two men have a close relationship. It all added up to make it an easy decision for Williams, who is looking to reinvigorate his career after he was a trade bust for Jerry Jones and the Cowboys.

In the last three seasons in Dallas, Williams had 94 receptions for 1,324 yards and 13 touchdowns. That's not far off from what he did in one season under Martz. As one scout said, when the offense is consistently pumping the ball to Williams, he can be terrific. When he starts to get lost in the game plan, he can begin to stray."
