The Bears running back had no desire to discuss the mistakes that made him the target of fans' frustrations last week. Barber did, however, open up about a couple of matters weighing heavily on his mind.

He watched his close friend, former Bears receiver Sam Hurd, become a national headline Thursday after being arrested Wednesday night and charged with accepting a kilogram of cocaine from an undercover federal agent. Hurd, who was released after posting $100,000 cash bond, will appear in a Dallas federal court for arraignment and faces 40 years in prison."
