Manhattan College seniors George Beamon and Rhamel Brown were named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District teams, it was announced Wednesday.

Beamon was a first team all-district selection, while Brown earned a spot on the second team.

A first team All-MAAC honoree, Beamon was named first team All-MAAC and gained Most Outstanding Player honors after helping lead Manhattan to the MAAC championship title. In the Jaspers' 71-68 victory over Iona, Beamon finished with 16 points and eight rebounds in 36 minutes of action.

Beamon leads the Jaspers in scoring (19.2 ppg), rebounding (6.6 rpg), steals (45) and free throw percentage (82.7%). He has scored at least 20 points in 17 games this season and is the Jaspers' fourth leading scorer in program history with 1,836 points.

Brown earned the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year award for the third consecutive season after he once again led the conference by a wide margin in blocked shots per game (3.7 bpg) and ranked third in the nation in blocked shots.

A second team All-MAAC selection, Brown also earned a spot on the MAAC's All-Tournament team after averaging 16.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks per game in Manhattan's three-game run to an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
