Former Boston College forward Ryan Anderson committed to the Arizona Wildcats tonight, after taking a recruiting visit to Tucson today.

Anderson chose the Wildcats over Iowa State, where he visited last week, and Indiana. Boston College was just 8-24 last season, after which coach Steve Donahue was fired, and Anderson opted to leave.

“Coming from BC, I wanted a chance to compete for a national championship and be a part of it,” Anderson told the Star tonight. “That’s the main thing, and their player development and history.”

Anderson, a 6-foot-8 forward, averaged 14.3 points and 7.3 rebounds as a junior last season while becoming an honorable mention all-ACC pick. He will sit out next season under NCAA transfer rules and have a final season of eligibility remaining in 2015-16.
