"Shane Battier did not have much explanation for his offensive performance on Tuesday when he made seven of 12 shots, including 5-of-8 from the 3-point arc, to score 20 points, his second-best scoring night of the season.

"I'm a post-Christmas shooter," Battier said. "I don't know, I've been like that every year. I don't know why. I'm weird like that."

He has made 13 of 25 shots since Christmas, and is making 44.9 percent of his shots in December. His shooting Tuesday, however, might be part of a different streak. In the Rockets' five home games in December, all Rockets wins, he is making 53.6 percent of his 3-pointers.

"I like shooting at home," Battier said. "I've always been like that. Some players are better on the road, some are better at home."

Battier has made 47.9 percent of his shots at home this season compared to 35.8 percent on the road."
