"Point guard Baron Davis made some bold proclamations Monday after his first practice that the Knicks offense will become "unstoppable'' once they "hit their stride.''
New York fans like their athletes brash but they don't like them sensitive to criticism. Isiah Thomas once earned the fans' wrath many years ago, saying the Garden should boo less and cheer more and become more like the atmosphere at the University of Indiana.
Davis, whose got a lively, hip personality, made a reference to the Garden's booing Monday. Davis must realize he's not in Charlotte, New Orleans, Cleveland or La-La land anymore. This is New York. When a club like the Knicks fail to live up to the hype, the fans have every right to boo them. They're certainly paying, parking and speciality hamburgers at the transformed Garden."
