Manchester City are still interested in Barcelona’s Victor Valdes, despite the return to form of their England goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Valdes, 32, has told Barca he will be leaving the Nou Camp when his contract runs out at the end of the season.

City’s chief executive Ferran Soriano and director of football Txiki Begiristain know Valdes from their time at Barcelona and that gives City a chance, with Liverpool also interested.

Monaco have also been strongly linked to land Valdes but the player is seemingly keeping his options open and a move to England is clearly a possibility.

'I've always identified with your football, the way the supporters live the game and the respect they show they players,' he said.
