"Running back Marion Barber wouldn't confirm he has been fined for violating the team's new dress code. He also didn't deny it.
A source said Monday that Barber was fined for not adhering to Jason Garrett's mandate that all players wear a coat, dress slacks and a tie for the team charter. Barber had on jeans and no tie when he left the locker room after Sunday's victory over the New York Giants.
He declined to speak to the media after the game, and, on Wednesday, Barber wouldn't answer questions about whether he was fined.
"I respect what you do," Barber said about reports of the fine. "Why would I cry about what you do? That's your job. That comes with the territory."
Barber didn't start Sunday. Felix Jones made only his second career start, and his first with Barber healthy. Jones started against Carolina last season when Barber missed the game with a bruised left thigh.
Barber, though, said it didn't matter that he wasn't on the field for the first play. He did carry the ball the next three plays, picking up 9 yards."
