Banged-up Jones might run in place

"The Seattle Seahawks may go with reserve running back Justin Forsett as the starter for a second straight week.

Starting tailback Julius Jones was a limited participant in practice for a second consecutive day on Friday and is questionable for Sunday's contest against St. Louis.

Seahawks head coach Jim Mora said Jones will be a game-time decision for Sunday.

"You've seen him work both days, limited," Mora said. "There's some things that look good, and there's just some questions that we have. So with two more days of rest we'll have a better feel."

Jones suffered a bruised lung in the first quarter against Arizona two weeks ago while blocking in pass protection against Cardinals linebacker Karlos Dansby.

Jones missed the rest of the game and stayed at a Phoenix-area hospital overnight as a precaution due to bleeding in his lung. Jones missed last week's contest against Minnesota.

"He's healed, but that was quite a ferocious blow he took," Mora said. "So I think it's just he's still sore from it."

Mora reiterated that if Jones does play he'll start, although his plays might be limited.

Jones said he has some concern for his safety in playing with the internal injury, and said he'll let the trainers decide if he's ready to go.

"I'm going to do whatever the trainers have me do," Jones said. "I've been practicing this week and it's up to them. I'm going to do what they say. It's something you don't want to play with, you know what I mean? So if they feel like it's safe to be out there, then I'll be out there."

Seattle will be without its top rusher in Jones if he can't play on Sunday, and that could be the case for St Louis as well. Rams running back Steven Jackson missed his third straight practice with back spasms and is questionable for Sunday's game."
