Andrew Shaw made up for a bad early penalty with his third-period goal and Marcus Kruger scored nine seconds later as the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Vancouver Canucks 2-1 on Saturday night.

The Blackhawks were down 1-0 until early in the third period. Shortly after a Blackhawks power play ended, Shaw slipped a Patrick Kane pass past Roberto Luongo to tie it 1-1 4:40 into the third period. Just nine seconds later Niklas Hjalmarsson’s pass sprung a 2-on-1 of Marcus Kruger and Brandon Bollig, with Kruger scoring for a 2-1 lead.

Corey Crawford was stellar in stopping 36 of 37 shots.
