The morning skate was finally over. So were two grueling, redundant sessions with dozens of media members and even a five-minute meet-and-greet with a few lucky kids who were able to meet their favorite hockey player.

When all the adult responsibilities were completed, The Kid could finally relax.

Sidney Crosby sat at his locker, lost in his thoughts for a moment, a smile on his face. He was back doing what he loves most, and hopefully the darkest chapter of his life was over.

"It's tough for Sid," goalie Marc-Andre Fleury said. "He hasn't played much in a long time. Maybe it will take him a little while to get back to dominating. But I don't doubt him."
