TCU co-offensive coordinator Doug Meacham is headed to another Big 12 program.

Kansas has hired Meacham to be the Jayhawks' new offensive coordinator, the university announced Thursday morning.

"Doug is someone I have admired for quite some time for his creativity on the offensive side of the ball," Kansas coach David Beaty said in a statement. "I have had to go up against him several times and it was always a huge challenge because of his ability to direct an offense."
Meacham, an Arlington native, was at TCU for three seasons and split coordinator duties with Sonny Cumbie.

Before joining TCU after the 2013 season, Meacham was at Houston for one season. Before that, he was an assistant at Oklahoma State for eight seasons. Meacham joins David Beaty, a former Dallas-area high school coach and Texas A&M assistant.

In 2014 and 2015, TCU was fifth or higher in total offense in the Football Bowl Subdivision. Last season, with new quarterback Kenny Hill taking over for Trevone Boykin and no Josh Doctson at wide receiver, the Horned Frogs dropped to 29th.
