Sacked Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villa-Boas is in line for a massive £4.5 million compensation, reports the Evening Standard.

His three-year contract was terminated by mutual consent yesterday following the humiliating 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool at White Hart Lane.

It was Spurs worst home defeat in 16 years and left them in seventh place, five points off the top four and a Champions League spot.

Villas-Boas, 36, had only been in the Tottenham hot seat since last July. It is his second failure at a London club after being sacked as Chelsea coach in March last year after only nine months in charge.

The Portuguese coach had previously worked with compatriot and current Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho for seven years.
