The Houston Astros have made some changes to the club’s coaching staff following the franchise’s first ever World Series title, promoting three to new positions.

Jeff Albert was named as the Astros’ new assistant hitting coach, taking the place of Alonzo Powell, who was hired as the hitting coach of the San Francisco Giants. Alex Cintron is moving from Spanish translator to first base coach in place of Rich Dauer while Doug White has been added as bullpen coach in place of Craig Bjornson, who moved to a similar position with the Boston Red Sox.

Dauer, who has spent more than 40 years in baseball as a player or coach, has been the Astros’ first base coach for the last three seasons. Following brain surgery, Dauer is expected to retire prior to the 2018 season.
