The World Series-champion Houston Astros are showing interest in top free-agent catcher Jonathan Lucroy.

The pursuit may be something of a surprise since they already have veteran Brian McCann, but McCann was, at the very least, heavily-used last year, to the point where help is definitely needed. Lucroy is believed to have a few teams looking at him, including the incumbent Colorado Rockies, who were happy with his work after acquiring him last year.

The Astros could be intriguing for Lucroy, who lives not too far from Houston, in Louisiana. He had a rough first half last year with the Rangers, starting his walk year in disappointing fashion before going to Colorado, where he produced more typically.
