"Before any real opening day or even Grapefruit League opening day, the Astros will have an unofficial opening weekend, doing everything in their power to turn on baseball season in Houston.

The club will finish its two-week caravan with Friday's Katy stop and then launch a 24-hour period featuring the presentation of awards at the annual baseball dinner, the release of single-game tickets, and FanFest at Minute Maid Park.

Among those present to receive their awards Friday night at the Hilton Americas-Houston will be Astros pitcher of the year Wandy Rodriguez, rookie of the year J.D. Martinez, Darryl Kile "Good Guy" winner Jason Bourgeois, and Houston-area player of the year Lance Berkman of the St. Louis Cardinals."
