Sporting Lisbon are willing to sell Spanish winger Diego Capel in January but only if someone meets their £6m valuation of the player.

Reports in Portugal suggest that Sporting are ready to let Capel leave in January after resisting interest from Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham for the 25-year-old over the summer.

According to A Bola, Capel remains one of the highest earners on the Sporting pay roll and the Portugese club would like to get the wages off their books, with the player in favour of a move to a higher profile league.

But Sporting insist they will not facilitate a cut-price deal for the former Sevilla star and are insisting that £6m is the price to lure Capel away from the Estadio Jose Alvalade.

Capel has had a difficult start to the season, including spending a month on the sidelines with injury, but returned to form with a goal and an assist against Maritimo to put himself back in the shop window.

Liverpool have been the English club most persistently linked with a move for Capel, but both north London sides and Marseille are also known to be interested in the Spanish international.
