Arsenal will be offered Real Madrid striker Karin Benzema at a bargain £20million in January as the Spanish club step up their bid to sign Luis Suarez from Liverpool.

Gunners manager Arsene Wenger was interested in Benzema in the summer but was not prepared £40m for the France international who cost £30m when he was signed from Lyon in 2009.

Now reports in Spain suggest Real boss Carlo Ancelotti is unhappy with the 25-year-old forward who has scored just two goals in eight appearances for Madrid this season.

He’s prepared to let Benzema leave to help fund a swoop for Suarez who is reportedly still keen to leave Anfield with the Bernabeu his preferred destination.

Other clubs around Europe will also be interested in Benzema and Arsenal will be near the top of the list despite Olivier Giroud making a flying start to the new campaign with four goals in seven appearances
