The former Manchester City star is keen to return to the Premier League – and London in particular.

AC Milan hitman Balotelli was originally interested in a reunion with his former Inter boss Jose Mourinho at Chelsea.

But Gunners chief Wenger is now in pole position.

Balotelli enhanced his improved reputation with a superb and disciplined performance against England eight days ago when he headed his country’s winner.

His agent Mino Raiola is now seeking a £150,000-a-week deal for Balo, 24.

And he is confident that he can reach agreement with Emirates boss Wenger in their discussions. The Arsenal boss is in the market for a striker and Balotelli has shown that he can not only play in a wide-attacking role or “in the hole” but also has the maturity to operate up front on his own.

Meanwhile, former Gunners hero Ray Parlour reckons Balotelli would be a big hit in North London and believes Wenger can handle the controversial forward.
