"When he came to town with the Minnesota Twins in May, Jason Kubel quickly realized that Chase Field wouldn't be a bad place to call home.

"He said, 'This is a baseball paradise,' " said Joel Wolfe, Kubel's agent. "You could say that was when he knew he wanted to be a D-Back."

Kubel officially became one this week, finalizing a two-year, $15 million deal that includes a $7.5 million mutual option for 2014."
