Arizona Cardinals' Larry Fitzgerald comes up big when it counts

"Larry Fitzgerald didn't make a peep about not getting the football most of the night against the Dallas Cowboys. Then again, he didn't have to say a word.

His body language said it all.

"You could just tell," Cardinals quarterback John Skelton said. "He was getting pretty frustrated. You see the guy, been around him, you know.

"But he didn't get down on himself or the team."

There is no "diva" in Fitzgerald. The NFL has many of them at the wide receiver position, but Fitzgerald doesn't say or do anything controversial. And he never complains.

Saturday night, who could have blamed him if he did?

Here it was, less than two minutes left on a Christmas night game against America's Team, and Fitzgerald had zero catches. That's right, zero.

Heck, Skelton had only thrown his way just once - and it wasn't catchable.

"Well, we had some things we tried to run to him," coach Ken Whisenhunt said. "He was open a couple of times and our quarterback just couldn't connect with him. That happens sometimes."

Not with Fitzgerald. He had caught at least two passes in 97 consecutive games, the fourth-longest such streak in NFL history."
