"Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt figures he and his staff will have some difficult decisions to make when they meet Friday to begin trimming the roster from 80 players to 53.

It's not a pleasant job, but Whisenhunt prefers having to make tough calls rather than easy ones. To him, it means he has more talent.

While many positions seem set, the final places on the roster might come down to how players perform Thursday night against Denver in the final preseason game.

When asked what he hopes to glean from Thursday's game, Whisenhunt borrowed a quote from Patriots coach Bill Belichick.

"More information," Whisenhunt said. "We've got a number of spots players are competing for. Last week, not everybody got reps (repetitions) because of trying to our first-team some reps, so this will be an opportunity to play some of those guys.
