If there weren't so many away-from-the-court concerns with Jackson it's safe to say he already would have found a free-agency home by now. For a player to essentially force his way out on a Spurs team with championship aspirations makes one wonder that if Gregg Popovich couldn't get through then who? All of that said Stephen Jackson as insurance makes sense for those nights when you want to rest LeBron or give Dwyane the night off. But the Heat clearly have done their due diligence and appreciate more than an outsider what the impact would be in the locker room. With Shane Battier Ray Allen James Jones and Rashard Lewis an argument could be made the Heat already have the necessary fill-in pieces in place.
