Richmond junior Kendall Anthony was named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week after averaging 20.0 points per game and shooting 51.8 percent from the field in two victories for the Spiders last week.

Anthony made 7-of-15 three-point attempts for 46.7 percent as Richmond defeated No. 12 ranked Massachusetts 58-55 and Saint Joseph’s 77-62.

The Jackson, Tenn. native scored a season-high and game-high 21 points, making 8-of-14 field goals and 4-of-6 three-pointers as Richmond took down No. 12 ranked UMass on Wednesday night.

Anthony followed that up with a team-high 19 points with three three-pointers in Richmond’s victory over Saint Joseph’s on Saturday.

He has scored in double-figures in 12-straight games and is averaging 16.6 points per game in Atlantic 10 play.

Anthony became just the 13th Spider junior to reach 1,000 career points and he is currently 35th on Richmond’s career scoring list with 1,088 points. He is fourth on UR’s career list for three-point percentage (.407) and tied for sixth with Justin Harper on Richmond’s list for career three-pointers with 179.
