"Antawn Jamison has had his hands full trying to deal with Kevin Garnett.
In the first two games of the Eastern Conference semifinals, Garnett averaged 18 points and 10 rebounds a game and put up 41 shots. In Game 3, Garnett had 19 points and four rebounds, but Jamison countered with 20 points and 12 rebounds in the Cavs' 124-95 victory that gave them a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Furthermore, Jamison's defense limited Garnett to 11 shots, a much more manageable number.
"With the exception of tonight, he got a lot of shots for two games," Jamison said. "When I played behind him ... the guy's too good. You want to make every shot difficult. With him, you can't let him get to his sweet spot. You've got to work him early and make him work hard on the offensive end then not let him get into a comfort zone."
After sitting home watching the playoffs way too many times in his career, Jamison is willing to do whatever he can to help the Cavs advance.
"I welcome the challenge," he said. "He's a key component to what they try to do and I have to make things difficult for him when he has the ball. Something I did tonight that I didn't do the first two games was try to make him move.""
