At long last, Andrew Bailey is ready for his Red Sox debut.

According to a team source, the Sox intend to activate Bailey from the disabled list before Tuesday night's game in Baltimore, the opener of an all-important three-game series against the Orioles. Bailey retired all four batters he faced in 1-1/3 innings Sunday night for Triple-A Pawtucket, his final minor league rehab appearance. He has been sidelined since the start of the season after undergoing thumb surgery on the eve of Opening Day.

In six appearances on a rehab assignment that began in the rookie-level Gulf Coast League, Bailey has allowed one run in 6-1/3 innings with 10 strikeouts, one walk and six hits allowed.
