"When the Magic introduced Chris Duhon the other day, the club conducted the standard photo op. General Manager Otis Smith carried the new point guard's previously unseen jersey to the podium.

Smith then unfurled Duhon's uniform top and held it up.

His number? 25.

Nick Anderson's number.

Maybe I'm just becoming an old sentimental fool, but it bothered me a little.

And I wondered if it bothered Nick, who is still the Magic's all-time leading scorer.

"I've had people texting me, calling me, saying, 'Man, they gave Chris Duhon your number.' I tell them, 'Don't be upset about that,' "Anderson said. "I'm thankful to have worn No. 25. They gave it to a pretty good young player."

Nick's other number now is 42 -- his age. He wears it well. He's grown through the years. I've known him since he was a rookie in1989, the club's first-ever draft pick."
